The secrets of getting sick fast

There are three secrets to getting sick fast, and now you can learn what they are if your goal is to wreck your health faster than you ever thought possible.

And no, one of these secrets is not lying on your couch all day long.

In fact, it’s not as much about what you do that makes you sick. It’s more about what you stop doing or refuse to do.

Let me tell it to you straight: If you want to get sick really, really fast, then there are three things you do NOT want to do:

1. Stop learning new things, especially new ways to nourish your body with whole plants. When you stick with the same ole-same ole routine of processed, greasy, salty junk and never change it up, you get to enjoy poor health far sooner than you ever could have planned on. Chronic disease can strike in your 20’s or 30’s, if you’ll let it happen by avoiding learning anything new.

2. Stop eating fruits and greens. Decades of research show that those who avoid fiber-rich, water-loaded foods end up with clogged arteries, stubborn weight, sluggish digestion and weakened immunity. Why? Because fresh produce, even slightly steamed or blended, feeds your microbiome, regulates your hormones, and keeps your defenses strong and youthful. So if your real goal is to get sicker, don’t bite into apples, don’t pile up salads, and don’t touch the greens. If you want to lose that resilient glow, if you want to decline disgracefully, then take it from me, stop eating them.

3. Stop doing anything that restores your food balance. For example, never plan a plate. Never try a new bean or grain. Never imitate how long-living cultures eat. And by all means, do not set foot in the produce section or a farmers’ market, where the air is fresher and the choices are obvious. As soon as possible, just let disease take its discourse, allowing your habits to go weak. The upside of this is you can get yourself prescriptions and learn to do the pharmacy shuffle in your 40’s or 50’s.

There you have it. The three secret hallmarks of getting sick faster.

Personally, I don’t live or abide by these secrets. Yes, I avoid them.

At the same time, I realize that many, many people engage in these inactivities each day and I cannot argue with the amazing results they are getting.

On the flip side, if by chance you want to put on a health-preserving show, I must stand and applaud.

Be forewarned though: If this is your goal and you pursue it, you may make a lot of people, even those far younger than you, jealous as hell. They will most certainly talk behind your back, calling you a food nut and criticizing you for having the guts to do what they won’t.

I learned long ago to take this sort of thing in stride.

Honestly, it puts a grin on my face, because choosing health in a world hooked on disease-promoting food feels like carrying a hidden advantage. If you hold this same mindset, that is truly remarkable.

Well, this completes this evening’s public service denouncement.

Have yourself a grand ole (or should I say sickly) weekend.

Live it DOWN!
