Prepping or pretending?

What's with the meal prep obsession?

Seems people only want to know how to batch, what to freeze, what keeps best, and how long cooked quinoa lasts in the fridge.

Sigh.

Look, I'm not against meal prep.

I do it myself.

And it’s endlessly useful.

But probably the biggest mistake people make (besides trying to prep 47 containers in one go) is assuming it needs to be complex to be worthwhile.

Sad, but true.

Most meal prep advice is really just "busywork guidance."

(i.e. it looks productive but ends up overwhelming you anyway...)

Plus, things change so fast week to week it’s almost funny when someone locks themselves into a rigid schedule that worked a few months ago but no longer aligns, especially as appetite, energy levels, and natural rhythms continue to change.

Anyway, I know most will ignore this.

Much easier to follow a checklist than listen to your appetite.

But so be it.

At least I tried...

P.S. This won’t help if what you want is a detailed spreadsheet of what to eat when. Yes, I post and share ideas but if you can’t flex with what you have or enjoy improvising with a half cup of quinoa and a few vegetables, this probably isn’t for you.

It’s ONLY for people who like simple staples.

Who think a fridge full of fresh greens and vegetables, cooked grains and legumes, and ingredients ready to mix and match is downright comforting.

And can put a meal together without relying on a step-by-step chart.

In fact, I know people right now who are watching my posts who I honestly hope don’t check out the books, not because they wouldn’t get something from them, but because they’re still searching for someone else’s perfect formula rather than learning to tune in to their own needs and trust their own decision-making.

For those meal-planners, access is denied.

Anyway, enough.
